Brief history of phone line

When the telephone was originally invented  voice communication was established  by connecting the  telephones through wires. Telephones  were originally connected directly together in pairs. Each user was required to establish separate telephones wired to the various places of contacts. It was found  inconvenient when many people wanted to interact with each other since there was no flexibility.

 

            As the technology advanced, the telephone exchange was invented. A telephone exchange or telephone switch is a system of electronic components that connects telephone calls. Initially a number of local loops were formed by setting up a number of exchanges. Soon nearby exchanges were interconnected. Eventually far away places were connected by working out a network
